Tap
Taught by Rachel Engisch & Heidi Schultz
Make some noise in our tap classes! Tap dancers create music with their feet by combining sounds into different rhythms and melodies. Tap is an American art form that developed in the 1800s through a mix of percussive dance styles brought to the U.S. by African, English, Irish, and Scottish communities. While it was heavily influenced by jazz music, tap dancers today dance to all types of music or perform a cappella (without music). Tap is great way for students to learn musicality and develop their rhythmic abilities!
